Soya the truth

A few years a go I picked up on this video and my thoughts were confirmed that soya is bad for you. I had actually been eating tofu at the time and just to describe how I felt after eating this food... sluggish; tired and groggy.
Drinking soya milk has a detrimental effect on peoples health (although I did get off that stuff years ago).  Soya just like wheat seems a common occurrence on the supermarket shelves, and it doesnt take a scientist to take a look at exactly what is in a product - just read the ingredients.

I fancied some cornflakes the other day so of course I was going to purchase the organic version (despite the hiked up price just because it was not cheap crap and despite fully knowing that the corn could possibly be GMO).   To my dismay the cornflakes had soya lecithin in which ultimately made me put the box back on the shelf.  When you are aware of what this food (if you can call it that) does to you, then your choices change.  The common sense overrides the cravings.

Why most of the vegetarian health food stores use soya as a healthy option means that they are behind the times, and need to have a wake up call that soy is not a health food at all.  My advice would be to always read the label, and watch out for soy lecithin as it is often used as a filler in foods such as popcorn; cornflakes; bread (soya flour); Quorn and chocolate.  So soya sauce and edemame beans are definitely a NO NO.
